Sunday Salon: Children’s Choice Book Awards

Last week the Children’s Book Council announced the 2010 Children’s Choice Book Award winners. All of the winners deserve praise and admiration, however I am particularly excited about one of the books that made the list. Suzanne Collins’ Catching Fire, the second book in the Hunger Games trilogy, won the Teen Choice Book of the Year award. I read the Hunger Games last year and I loved it. It was probably my favorite book of 2009. Upon finishing Hunger Games I promptly read Catching Fire, and I loved it just as much. I can not wait for the third book in the series, Mockingjay, to come out this August.

If you have not yet read either of these books, Hunger Games or Catching Fire, you need to run out to your nearest bookstore, library, or friends house and start reading right away. You won’t regret it.
